School Year 2026-2027
September 10, 2026

Dear Parents / Guardians,
I hope you all had a wonderful summer! As we prepare to begin a new school year at P.S. 84Q, I want to extend a warm welcome back to all of our families, and a special welcome to those joining our school community for the very first time.
The start of the school year is always an exciting time—a chance for new beginnings, new friendships, and new opportunities to learn and grow. Our dedicated teachers and staff have been working hard to prepare classrooms and learning experiences that will challenge, inspire, and support every student. We have several new wonderful teachers & staff joining our school community this year!
This year, we will continue to focus on strengthening literacy and math skills, fostering social-emotional growth, encouraging student leadership, and celebrating our strong school community. Together, with your partnership, we can ensure that every child has a safe, nurturing, and engaging school experience. As we begin the new school year, I will start to share some more exciting happenings planned.
We encourage you to stay connected with us throughout the year. Regular communication between school and home is key to student success. Please look out for updates on Dojo.
On behalf of the entire staff at P.S. 84Q, thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education. We are excited for the year ahead and look forward to working together to make it a memorable and successful school year. Here are a few important reminders as we begin the school year:
- **First Day of School:** Thursday, September 10, 2026 (today!)
- **Back-to-School Night:** Monday, September 14, 3:30pm-6:30pm, IN PERSON – A great opportunity to meet your child’s teachers and learn more about the upcoming year.
- **School Hours:** 8:15am - 2:35pm
Please feel free to reach out to your child’s Teacher, Secretary, or Parent Coordinator if you have any questions or need assistance as we start the school year. We are here to support you and your child every step of the way.
